Investment in the future: Wörner expands plant park

At Wörner, the course is set for growth. By expanding its production capacities, the company is responding to the increased demand for turned parts and is focusing on even more value creation in-house.

Denkendorf, April 2022 – Wörner acquires another high-quality machine for the production of turned parts for the Wörner product range. This complements an identical lathe purchased in 2019. Thus, the new acquisition fits ideally into the modern machinery and offers efficient interface management. "With the modernization and expansion of our machinery, we are not only responding to the very good order situation," reports Managing Director Stefan Jacob, "but this also allows us to achieve the largest possible in-house production share."

The total investment volume was in the six-figure range. Optimizing the machine park is of great importance to Wörner. In the market, the medium-sized company relies on quality and flexibility, realized among other things through state-of-the-art technology. In this case, this comes from EMCO, one of Europe's leading machine tool manufacturers.

Special heavy-duty forklifts were used to transport the machine, which was dismantled into three parts for transport, to its designated place in the production hall. But not only the transport is millimeter work, also the leveling and adjustment must be done extremely precisely, only this way the machine can work smoothly. Once the machine has been commissioned, the first test parts can be produced. Only when these meet the high demands of the quality inspection does regular production start.

In addition to the machines, however, it is also the people who are important. The activities of production employees have changed in the course of the machine upgrade. They program, operate and check the computer-controlled processing machines while they do the actual work. At Wörner, they know: Only the combination of experienced and highly trained employees with modern machinery forms an optimal production chain for high-quality products.
